Grandpa and Grandma Howick invited Zane to go on their vacation to Montana with them. I am going to type the words coming straight from his mouth as he explains his fun vacation....
When we got to
their house (Randy and Wendy
Oakason) in Montana, we got out of the car and the dog started chasing us (giggling as he tells it). Wendy said "come in Zane" and introduced him to all of the people. There was Travis and his friend, Randy, Rick, Von, Wendy (another one), Trish, Kathie, Great Grandpa
Howick and of course Grandma and Grandpa
Howick. We settled in for the night and slept in the
trailer outside of the house.
The next day we got up, took some pictures and they told me the dogs names. Franny and Piper (2 yellow labs). We had breakfast and hopped in the car and went to White Lake to go fishing. Rick caught the first fish, but I caught the second fish with my awesome Batman fishing pole. I caught an Arctic
Grayling fish. Everybody was impressed with how good I could cast my pole. The fishing trip was AWESOME!!! That night we went back to the house and played games, then me and Grandma went to bed. I was scared that the bears might come out, but they never did!
The very next day we woke up, got dressed and brushed our teeth. I put on my Idaho hat and had breakfast. I asked Travis what we were going to do and he suggested playing his Nintendo 64. We played Nintendo most of the day and the next morning. Later we got ready and went on the four wheelers. Travis drove up the mountain on the red four wheeler and I sat in front of him. We got stuck because there were trees on the trail in front of us. Travis put me off the four wheeler and backed up down the trail a little bit then came up a different way and picked me up. I hopped back on the four wheeler and drove up the trail and there was another tree in the way, but we just drove over it. It was not as big. We caught up to the rest of the group and took pictures. We got back on the four wheeler and put our helmets on and Travis drove for a while to catch up to his mom and then he asked me if I wanted to drive and I said YES!!! I drove down the mountain and the turns were a little weird. When we got home we played more games and Grandma and I went to sleep.
We went shooting in Randy and
Wendy's back yard. I got to shoot Grandpas gun and shot the target down, then I got to shoot Travis' gun that had a scope on it. It is a little gun. I liked the gun with the scope better. We shot at pieces of wood that were set up and I hit them all down. It was fun!
We went to White Fish Resort and rode the chair lift up to the top of the mountain and went into a store. Kathie bought me chocolate rocks that I shared with everybody. We ate lunch in a
restaurant and the store that was hooked together, sort of like
Walmart that is hooked to Subway. We rode the Gondola (it is the same as the chair lift, but it is a big circle) half way down to the slides. We sat on yellow rectangle things with wheels that you push forward to go fast and pull backward to slow down. The road was a really light yellowish color with cement underneath and steep turn and bumps to drive over. There was a cave like thing we drove through. It was AWESOME!!!
The next day was the boat trip. We rented two rafts to go down the river. Randy, Travis, Grandma, Grandpa and I were in the second raft. There were big waves and we
couldn't steer. We hit a big rock and went spinning. The man in the store said it would be a 6 hour trip, but it ended up being 24 hours for us. When we were going down the river it got dark and we stopped and pulled the boats up and they decided who would go find help. Rick and Randy went. They decided we should hop in the boat and get warm because it was raining on us. I fell asleep and Grandpa and Grandma first held me and then Wendy held me. It was really cold and I was scared. Grandma was scared and some people said we were never going to make it. Grandma said one prayer and I said three! It was 2 hours (actually the following morning) before the ambulance came and they grabbed me and put me in the ambulance and then Grandma came in next, then Wendy, then Great Grandpa
Howick. We had to take all of our clothes off except for our shirts and underwear. They gave us a hospital
blankie to wrap around us so that nobody could see us. They took us to something falls??? and got us warm and gave us hot chocolate and then we all fell asleep at the station. The boys went and got the cars and brought them to the station and then we went home and fell asleep forever. We were very tired!!!
The next day I played
Nintendo all day because that was our relaxing day!
The very next day we drove back to
Kamas. I got to sit
in between Grandpa and Grandma in the car until I got tired then I laid in the back seat and fell asleep. It was a very long drive and I talked with Grandma
a lot. I was happy to make it to
Kamas and Dad came with the kids to pick me up.
