BASEBALL! BASEBALL! BASEBALL!

This is Zane's first year playing coach pitch. He has done extremely well and has improved a lot since last year. We took him to the batting cages for the first time and the guy that worked there said he had a great swing with a lot of power and said "He must have done this before". We told him it was his first time in the cages and he was amazed. Good job Zane!

This is Macie's first year in T-Ball. She loves it! It is so cute to watch their team play a game. Somebody will bat the ball and the whole team runs to get the ball and they tackle each other trying to get it. She loves to wear her baseball outfit and her hat. What a cutie.

Their games are always at the same time, so Zach and I set up our camping chairs in the middle and yell and scream for both of them at the same time. We must look so crazy! Oh-well, we're proud parents.

Wise Beyond His Years

I just wanted to share how amazing Zane is.......

When Zane was 4 1/2, he came up to me when I was frustrated because I couldn't figure out what Jesse was trying to tell me. He put his arm around me, patted my back and whispered into my ear "Mom, If you will just listen with your heart, you will understand what he is trying to tell you." What a tear jerker. I love that boy!

Our sweet Zaner boy turned eight years old March 30, but we had to wait a couple of months to baptize him so that all of our family could make it. We are so proud of him for choosing to be baptized a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. He is and has always been just the best little boy with such a sweet spirit. What an example he is to our entire family, always willing to help and is very intune with everybodys emotions and needs. He loves going to church and learning about the gospel and was VERY excited about his new suit and his own set of scriptures. He looks like a little missionary!!!

The Baptism was beautiful!!! The program was very nice and the Grandmas did a great job on their talks. They pulled up a chair and spoke directly to Zane. It was very much on his level, prepared for exactly what he needed to hear and very heart felt and full of love. Zane loves his grandparents! His dad was honored to take him into the water and Baptize him and his Grandpa Howick confirmed him. It couldnt have been more perfect!!! I read a poem that I wrote and blubbered through the whole thing. I was crying before I even stood up and I could hardly read my eyes were so blurred. It is so hard for me to see my kids grow up even though it is exciting to see them grow and progress. I remember bringing him home from the hospital like it was yesterday. The time goes by so fast, I wish it would slow down a bit so that I could catch up!

After the Baptism we changed our clothes and headed to the Centerfield Church pavilion for a yummy BBQ and played Zane's favorite sport -BASEBALL! It was wonderful having all of the family together enjoying each others company. Thanks Skye and Cody for driving all the way from Saint George and thanks for your help with the program. We love you! Brenna and Carl, I couldn't do it with out you! You are family as far as I am concerned and a huge part of our lives. There isn't anybody out there that would do a better job in helping Zach and I raise our kids and we couldnt ask for better friends. Thanks for your help with the music and thanks for letting us use you BBQ-er. We love you guys. Thanks Kerri for always being there for our family. We love having you around more than you know it. Thanks for believing in our dreams and always supporting us. We Love You. Grandma Bowden, Thanks for always being there for us and never missing out on anything. You are amazing and we love you!

Thanks for all the family and friends that came to support Zane and help out with the program. You are all such an important part of his life and you help make Zane who he is!!! Congratulations Zane! We are so proud of you and we love you so much.

Chaos at the Howick house!!!

Every big event in our lives are of course total chaos! Why is it that nothing ever seems to go smooth and no matter how hard I try to plan ahead and not wait until the last second, I still end up rushing right up to the very last minute. Grandma Marilyn Gorham and Kerri slept over the night before Zane's big day and we stayed up until 1:00 getting his video montage set up to primary music. We had it PERFECT until it would not burn to a DVD. I called Zach at work to see if he had any ideas. He said to just leave it and he would play with it in the morning. Well, in the morning, everything was lost! No video montage could be found. Kerri started working on it right away and redoing it (thanks Kerri for all your help, I love you!), still to find out in the end it would not burn. We ended up playing it on the small laptop at the baptism, and you could hardly see or hear it. Oh-well! Thats just how we roll at the Howick house. It all turned out nice in the end.

BEST BUDDIES

Jesse and Brayden Sanderson are best buds, they do EVERYTHING together!!! Braydens sweet mom Brenna watches our kids for us when Zach and I work. She is their second mom, so I guess that would make them brothers, right? We love our Brayden boy, he is just part of the family. Jesse's second most important thing in his life is the "Bonco". He loves everything about the big blue bronco. He likes to ride in it, he likes to wash it with his aunt Kerri, he likes how loud it is and likes to just sit in it. He even goes outside to check on it. It was one of his very first words, and to see the look on his face when we start the engine up is just adorable. We've thought about selling it a couple of times, but I'm afraid it is also part of the family now and it is here to stay.

ZANE IS A WOLF NOW

Zane turned eight years old on March 30 and has started the scouting program. He hurried and passed off his Bobcat and is working on his Wolf. We are so proud of him!!! We couldn't ask for a better kid. We are trying to get everything ready for his baptism which will be on May 16, 2009 (We finally found a date that will work for everyone. YEAH!!!)

Thank Goodness For Spring

We love the winter time only long enough to make a snow castle and take a good sledding trip. We had a lot of fun playing in the snow, but we are ready to get outside and start playing in the sunshine.
