Scavenger Hunt for Macie's Birthday

Macie is turning 7 and We wanted to do something special for her.

Zach, Zane and Macie went to Zanes basketball game at 8:30 in the morning, so I planned a scavenger hunt for all the kids to do. I did the clues and Josie decorated the envelopes, and what a great job she did. They had a blast working together to figure out the clues to find Macies Birthday Present..............

When they were all piled in the car we gave them CLUE #1........

"This is where we pick up our bills, mail and Birthday cards. You need something special to open this.....Do you remember which one is ours? Good Luck. When you guess correctly, you will find your next clue".

Yeah. The clues were very easy, and they guessed it......The post office!!!

They had the key, but couldn't figure out which box it was. They tried all of them until it opened.

They were excited to find CLUE#2

"Our money is very safe here, and when we visit.....the nice ladies give us suckers"

Yup....The Credit Union. It was closed and they had to search all around to find the next envelope CLUE#3

"You are doing so good on you scavenger hunt so far. Stay in the same building and find Daddy's friend and Zanes basketball coach. He will have clue #4. Keep up the good work".

The kids knew just who it was.....Store manager Jeremy Vincent!!!

When Jeremy saw the kids coming for their clue, he started running and the kids chased him. It was alot of fun for them. Finally Jeremy went to his office and made the kids jump to get the next clue

"Go to our favorite park...It is cold outside, so go to the place we could build a fire to stay warm. Good Luck!!!".

Gunnison Park it was....The fireplace!!!

NEXT CLUE....

"We love to sit at the tables outside in the summer and inside during the winter to eat our favorite treat. It is cold.....so go inside, have a treat and ask the ladies for your final clue".

Five Star is our favorite place to get ice cream. The kids wanted ice cream, hot chocolate and french fries. What a combination huh? YUMMY.
The final Clue read.......
"This is a place that we feel safe and warm and our family is always there. Go to the place where you and your sister catch some zzzzzz's at night and you will find you very special Birhday Present.....HAPPY BIRTHDAY MACIE ANN".

Do you like how everybody is wearing their big vests? I came out wearing mine and before I knew it all the kids had theirs on and dad didn't want to be left out.

These are out of order a little bit.........Here she is opening her present from Grandma and Grandpa Howick. She got a pretty pink jacket and her favorite.......Pet Shop! Great Grandma Bowden mailed her a card with a 2 dollar bill in it which we had to run straight over to Family Dollar to spend. Thanks everybody!!!

When we got home from Five Star....all the kids ran straight up stairs and we could hear Macie screaming. She was so excited for her brand new bike. I know it is not the best weather for a bike, but that is what she has been asking for. She has always had the ugly hand me down bikes with miss match seats and stuff, so she was way excited to have a brand new pretty pink bike. She got a gift card to K-Mart so that she can pick out her own helmet to go with it.

Macie riding her new 6 speed pink bike in her new pink jacket. She didnt want to put on a heavy coat over the top. Had to sport the new clothing!!!

It was so cold and the roads with snow made it hard to ride....She didn't care one bit. She had to ride it several times throughout the day with hot chocolate in between.

Happy Birthday Macie Ann.......We love you!!!

We are having Sandersons come over for lunch, cake and ice cream today and then we are going sledding on Wednesday with friends. More pics to come.
