Run...Kim.....Run!!!

My first run was straight up hill and it was quite a challenge for me

We were lucky to have Cptn. Bill East and his wife Sharon in our van. They were so much fun, and he was the life of the party.

LT. Rick Rassmussen was a blast to have on the team too. He drove the van the whole time except for when he was running. He did awesome!

Bill ran one of his legs with nothing but his reflective vest. When he got back he said he needed a sports bra to wear because he chaffed his nipples. It just so happened that I had an extra one. Like I said.......He was the life of the party. He ran out to give his wife water while she was running in this bra. It was hillarious.

Me and my good friend Carl Sanderson were a part of the CUCF pig team in the Ragnar Relay Valley of Fire 2009 October 9th and 10th. Just imagine....12 people, 6 in a van, running, taking turns for 30 hours and 170 miles. The run began an hour outside of Mesquite and ended at the Red Rock Casino in Las Vegas.

We were the CUCF pigs since we all worked or had spouses who worked at Central Utah Correctional Facility, The inmates all lovingly call us pigs. It seemed fitting and cute. We wore snouts, ears, tails and our CUCF pigs t-shirts. Our van had a big snout on the front of it.

It was absolutely a blast and we had so much encouragement from our team members who would wait up the road for us and cheer us on the entire way. The other teams were great too.

Cant wait to do the next Ragnar in June 2010 from Logan to Park City. Wooot Wooooot!!!

The party in your van will only get better as you leap frog your way past the breathtaking views of LAKE MEAD, stunning views of the strip at night and then onto the majestic cliffs of RED ROCK CANY0N The race (and your stamina) will wrap up at Red Rock Casino in LAS VEGAS

Six more days!!!! I am way excited! I will be running with several officers from the prison and their spouses. I'm excited to make some new friends and challenge myself with this run. I have not been able to train as much as I had hoped because I constantly am getting sick.... Thanks Carl for dragging me along on your runs.... We will do awesome!!! Wish us luck!!! Zach and Brenna get training because we are dragging you on the next one:)
